Due date:

ASSESSMENT
Weighting:
20% of total unit assessment
2B
Length:
2000 words (+/- 10%)
Write a report answering the following questions from the ‘It’s not what you know … it’s who you know’ case study that will be made available through the Moodle website. Please find the case study on the 8th page of the pdf available in the Moodle website.
Case Study Questions:
1. The initial interview and orientation presented a very strong message about the knowledge environment operating at Manic Marketers. What features were portrayed? How did these differ from reality?
2. A mentor has certain functions in an organisation. Identify the types of support offered by this mentor. What else could the mentor have done to help Damon gain organisational knowledge?
3. In this context, the recording of client data is a major benefit to the organisation. Identify the types of information that should be included and discuss how they might have been recorded as codified knowledge. Review KM Viewpoint 2.1 (on the 4th page of the pdf available in the moodle website) and identify the other forms of knowledge which would have been of value to Damon in this initial stage. 4. Using KM Viewpoint 2.2 (on the 6th page of the pdf available in the moodle website), evaluate the social capital factors which were evident in the knowledge environment. What, in your opinion were the key weaknesses?
5. Manic Marketers needed to develop some very different approaches to how they share their knowledge. Identify some strategies which might be considered. How would you implement these strategies? What impediments to sharing can you identify?

Headings within your report
The following headings should appear in your report. Apart from Executive Summary, Introduction, Conclusion and References, these headings relate to the above 5 questions.
 Executive Summary
 Introduction
 The knowledge environment
 The role of a mentor
 Types of information and forms of organisational knowledge
 Key weaknesses in the social capital
 Knowledge sharing strategies
 Conclusion
 References
Presentation of your assignment:
You must include the following in your report:
 Title Page – clearly set out the title of your assessment, your name, your student ID, the unit name, unit code and the name of the lecturer. There must be no graphics or pictures of any kind on the title page.
 Format – 2000 words (+/-10%) report excluding title page, table of contents and references. Submit one file in Microsoft Word .doc or .docx format. Times New Roman 12pt. The report must have a header and footer as follows: in the header put your student number on the left side of the page and your name on the right side of the page. The footer should have a page number that is centred on the page. The header and footer should appear beginning with the Introduction of the report and continue throughout the rest of the report. There should be no header or footer on the Title page, the Executive Summary, or the Table of Contents.
 Executive Summary (not more than one page) – the idea of an executive summary is it summarises the whole report so a busy person could get a good idea of the contents without having to read the entire report. This means it should contain the purpose of the report, summary of the body of the report and summary of any findings or recommendations if these were present. Please see the ‘Unit Resources’ section in the Moodle unit webpage to learn more about how to write an executive summary.
 Table of Contents – auto generated using the word processor. The title page and table of contents itself should not appear in the table of contents. The table of contents should be on its own page.
 Introduction – identifies the purpose of the report, background of topic, and briefly states the issues you will be discussing within the body of the report. Another way of
Page 3 of 4
saying this is that the Introduction outlines the “agenda” of the report. Please see the ‘Unit Resources’ section in the Moodle unit webpage to learn more about how to write an introduction.
 Body – this is where you discuss your answers in detail, where appropriate, headings and sub-headings should be included with the logical progression of your answers from one idea to the next. Do not use the word ‘Body’ as a heading – identify words that relate to your report for the heading.
 Conclusion – in this section you need to summarise your work and findings. You should introduce no new points in your conclusion. Please see the ‘Unit Resources’ section in the Moodle unit webpage to learn more about how to write a conclusion.
 References – this is a list of all the books and articles you have cited in your report. Use Harvard (author-date) referencing style for your in-text citations as well as your list of references. You need to reference all the materials you have used. Use at least seven academic quality journal articles published between 2011 and 2018. Do not use sources that were published before 2011. Contact your library and/or academic learning centre for assistance in proper referencing. Use of Wikipedia and other similar websites is strictly discouraged.
Submission instructions:
Note that:
 Submission is a three-stage process of (i) uploading the file(s) (ii) saving the file(s) and then (iii) submitting the saved file(s) for marking. Please use the ‘Add submission’ button in the assessment submission area of the Moodle unit website to select and upload your file(s) for this assessment. You must then click the ‘Save changes’ button after you’ve uploaded the file(s) to ensure they are added to your draft submission.
 Once uploaded and saved, all compatible files will be sent to Turnitin.com for originality checking. If you wait for half an hour or so after uploading your initial draft submission, you can return and check the Turnitin similarity report for your uploaded file(s) to see whether you want to submit them for marking, or whether you want to delete the file(s), revise and resubmit. For further details, please click here.
 Turnitin has a 24-hour delay in updating similarity scores for all files uploaded after your initial draft.
 Any file(s) you have uploaded and left in draft format will be submitted automatically for marking on the due date and time, so you need to ensure that the final version of your submission has been uploaded by this date.
 When viewing any feedback files for your submission, it is strongly recommended you use appropriate/compatible software applications which correctly open the type of file provided. This will ensure that the feedback is displayed as intended.

Should pit bull terriers be banned in my community

Discussion Forum: Counterarguments (Should pit bull terriers be banned in my community) You created a question about the topic for your W6 Rough Draft. For this discussion, you will give an answer to that question in the form of a thesis statement. "Dieting Makes People Fat" Main Post: Share your thesis statement with your classmates. Please note: As with last week’s discussion, nothing here is set in stone. Be open to changing everything about your topic, including your position and audience, as you research it and get feedback from your classmates. Topic + Position/Purpose + Supporting Points =Thesis Statement Example: Suppose the question you posed in the Week 5 discussion was something like, “Should pit bull terriers be banned in my community?” After doing some preliminary research, you have concluded that pit bulls, if raised properly, are no more dangerous than other breeds of dogs. Your thesis statement can be something like, “Pitbulls should not be banned

Controversy Associated With Dissociative Disorders

Assignment: Controversy Associated With Dissociative Disorders The  DSM-5-TR  is a diagnostic tool. It has evolved over the decades, as have the classifications and criteria within its pages. It is used not just for diagnosis, however, but also for billing, access to services, and legal cases. Not all practitioners are in agreement with the content and structure of the  DSM-5-TR , and dissociative disorders are one such area. These disorders can be difficult to distinguish and diagnose. There is also controversy in the field over the legitimacy of certain dissociative disorders, such as dissociative identity disorder, which was formerly called multiple personality disorder. In this Assignment, you will examine the controversy surrounding dissociative disorders. You will also explore clinical, ethical, and legal considerations pertinent to working with patients with these disorders.
