User stories and algorithms provide a way to design an animation.

IT111-5: Implement programming design concepts through creation of story boards.

GEL-6.2: Apply a professionally recognized method of formatting and documentation.

PC-2.2: Formulate innovative solutions for identified initiatives.

Purpose

User stories and algorithms provide a way to design an animation. For this module, you will design an original animation using these tools as well as storyboards.

Problem:

You are planning to start a new business that will sell unique animated greeting cards for a variety of holidays and other special events. You want to present a highly creative and unique animated card to prospective investors that might want to invest in your new business. You have decided that using an Alice animation would be a good way to create this animated greeting card. However, before you can create the animation, you need to design it. You will create a design document that has a scenes and shots outline, user stories for each scene, and storyboards for each scene.

Instructions

Design an original animation using any scene/environment, any props, and any objects of your choice. You will create this animation that you design in Unit 10. The following must be included in the animation:

    1. At least six scenes, some with multiple shots.
    2. At least 4 props
    3. At least 3 objects
    4. The animation must have a cohesive purpose (a story to tell, a game, a puzzle, an interactive movie).

The Design Document that you create must include the following:

    1. Outline of each scene and each shot within a scene.
    2. User story for each scene.
    3. Storyboard for each scene.

These documents should be presented in the format described in your textbook in Chapter 1.5. The storyboard should be completed using the Storyboard Template provided in Course Resources.

The three elements must be synthesized into a single cohesive Design Document.

Minimum Submission Requirements

1. Design an animation with at least six scenes, some with multiple shots.

2. Create an outline for each scene and shot (as described in Chapter 1.5).

3. Create user stories for each scene as described in Chapter 1.5.

4. Create storyboards for each scene as described in Chapter 1.5, using the Storyboard template provided in Course Resources.

5. Synthesize the outline, user stories, and storyboards into a single cohesive design document in a Word document.
