You will write a 5-6 page final paper. You are expected to write this in paragraph form and each paragraph should contain one idea. Topic sentences should support the central discussion, and the final sentence of each paragraph should lead into the next paragraph. You must include a bibliography. The paper must include the following: 1. Overview of the case, incident, situation, etc., related to racial injustice What injustice took place? Location of the injustice Who is involved? Who is alleged to be responsible for the injustice? Here you should also describe how the media frames those responsible for what has happened. Do you they describe it as a case of injustice? Provide a timeframe for what took place. 2. The inter-institutional interactions across time and space that reproduce racial inequality Bring together the relevant historical, cultural, institutional and interpersonal dynamics that led this incident to take place. 3. The fight for social justice Who are/were the individuals, groups, organizations, or political parties fighting against the injustice? What are/were their goals/aims? What activities are/were they conducting to fight against the injustice? Have they been/were they successful in achieving their goals? How do you know? 4. Personal Reflection How is the issue related to your life, experiences, feelings and ideas? For instance, what emotions did exploring this topic arouse in you? Did writing this paper increase your understanding of a particular issue? Did it change your perspective in any way? Please use the following format: 1. A title page with your name, the name of the course, the date, the semester, and a paper title 2. Please remember that papers should be 5-6 pages (double-spaced). 3. You will be graded on formatting because this is important to the overall presentation of your work as students. 12 pt. standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, Arial) Double-spaced Add page numbers somewhere Indent paragraphs (one tab) Justify paragraph margins Document margins should be 1” all around.
