During the course of the semester (not later than two weeks before the due date of the POE), we will provide you with specific research questions and prescribed articles that you should use to write your POE proposal.
In this part of the portfolio, we want you to use the template provided in Part 3 to write a research proposal. A research proposal is a document in which you PLAN your research project and describe what you will do when you conduct the research in future. Your research proposal should therefore be written in the future tense. However, according to APA guidelines, literature references should be done using the past tense.
Resources that you can use for writing your research proposal include the following: • The research proposal template that is uploaded as an additional resource in your study material. • The examples of research proposals that are uploaded under Week 13 of your study material. • You can also look at some of your recommended journal articles. Except for the results, discussion and conclusion sections, your proposal will include most of the elements that are included in a published article.
Remember to correctly apply the APA style of referencing throughout your text as well as in your reference list.
Your proposal should be between 10 and 15 pages long, including the table of contents and the reference list. The literature review should be between 3 and 5 pages long.
