THIS PROJECT WALKS YOU THROUGH THE ACCOUNTING CYCLE FROM RECORDING JOURNAL ENTRIES TO PREPARING FINANCIAL STATEMENTS.
This project walks you through the accounting cycle from recording
journal entries to preparing financial statements. The Word document is
the instructions, and the Excel file is for you to prepare your
solution. You should use basic formulas (adding, subtracting,
multiplying, dividing) in preparing your journal entries, T-account
balances, Trial balance, and Financial Statements. At this level in your
education, you should not just “type” your solution in the Excel
worksheets.
To start, you might find printing the ‘blank’ worksheets in the Excel file helpful if you like to work with hard copy documents. For those who are good with Excel, you might want to link the worksheets together to help find balancing errors quicker.
PLEASE NOTE: The due date for the project is midnight, Monday, April 17. I STRONGLY suggest you do NOT wait until Saturday, April 9 to start the project!! I can almost guarantee you will not completely finish it. This project is NOT a “test”, meaning you can ask questions from me and your fellow classmates (I will open a discussion board forum for this purpose). However, everyone needs to turn in his/her own solution.
This is a project for Fundamentals of Gov/Fund Acct
