Red Tide

The term “Red Tide” is usually associated with smelly beaches and lung irritation. For this week’s lab, investigate the cause(s) of Red Tide by visiting the websites below. Red tide is caused by protists, and THEIR causes have been argued and debated. After researching the information provided at the websites below, submit a 1-page summary paper describing what you see as the cause(s) of “red tide”. Provide both simple and complex answers, and please feel free to indicate if you have any “personal” hypotheses about why red tides have seemingly increased in frequency along the west coast of Florida!
