A proposal for upgrading DeVry University PC/laptop Operating system to Windows 10 Abstract All the desktop and laptop computers at DeVry University need to be upgraded to the Windows 10 operating system in order to meet its educational objectives. This research paper lists the activities to be undertaken to ensure that the rollout of Windows 10 is handled with as little interruption to regular business operations. REQUIREMENTS:

Research Project Paper The directions for the Research Project Paper are as follows: The Research Project will be based on a topic of your choice, but related to the themes studied in this course. You will research your topic and present material using scholarly journals and professional web-sites with authored material (not popular Internet sites), and books to support your thesis statement. In addition to the textbook, you need at least two additional academic resources. You will need to appropriately cite all sources using APA guidelines along with an abstract and reference page. The Research Project at DeVry is designed to develop and further your critical thinking skills and your research ability. Please keep in mind the Learning Objectives of DeVry’s written assignments listed in the General Instructions section of this course. Please develop a 10-12-page research paper using the American Psychological Association (APA) format for all portions of the paper. Please review the guidelines in the General Instructions portion of this course. The General format of the Project should be: TITLE PAGE (page 1 – not counting towards your total pages): Running head with page number; title in the form of a research question that you actually answer; your name, student ID, and date. ABSTRACT (page 2 – not counting towards your total pages): Use no more than 150 words and up to three paragraphs to concisely: (a) state the topic and purpose of your paper, (b) your analytical approach (i.e., which of the above methods you are using to analyze factors or discussing important/controversial issues related to your technology topic), and (c) what your major conclusion is (i.e., the answer to your research question which is also the title of your paper). YOUR CONTENT (10-12 pages as listed above): In these pages provide background information, present condition, possible solutions, etc. Regardless of your approach, it is useful to include in this section of the paper the purpose of your paper. REFERENCE (1 page – not counting towards your total pages): In this section, you are to list every reference cited in your paper according to the APA format. Pay particular attention to the required formatting for web pages, and note that the formatting for books differs from journal articles, and that these differ from newspapers, etc.

Upgrading DeVry University PC/laptop Operating system to Windows 10 To provide the students with superior educational services, DeVry University must be running on latest technologies in order to meet its educational objectives. This project will upgrade all the desktop and laptop PCs at DeVry to the Windows 10 operating system. To accomplish this task, all existing PCs will be analyzed for any possible compatibility issues and upgraded as needed. A schedule will be developed to ensure the rollout of the PCs/laptops and Windows 10 is handled with as little interruption to regular business operations. In addition, all PCs will be tested prior to delivery to ensure there are no application problems. To minimize the impact to the staff, faculty and students, this project will include post-delivery support – for both PCs and applications - through the development of on line tutorials, user manuals, and a fully staffed help desk. All the existing 50 PCs/laptops must be upgraded within 3 months period.
