prepare for instructional planning when including Special
Populations?
The article suggested that student teaching was important in helping teachers prepare for instructional planning when including Special Populations. Student teaching provides real life experiences for the teacher. It allows opportunities to fail but with just enough safety net to keep trying in the profession. According to Cook, it is the first classroom experience a student will have to learn about the field, grow professionally, and learn how to be an effective teacher (Cook, 2007).
What do YOU believe is important to consider when it comes to the student teaching experience and the relationship between student teacher and cooperating teacher?
I believe it is important for the student teacher and the cooperating teacher to build a relationship. The cooperating teacher should be there to assist the student teacher with all their needs and show them the correct way classroom procedures should be handled. The cooperating teacher should share their experience and knowledge with the student teacher to build them up and mold them into an effective teacher.
