You may choose a thematic topic that considers specific works by several artists, or you may choose to focus on a subset of one artist’s work. Whatever direction you choose, you should make sure to have a clear, arguable thesis. *bibliography should be composed of scholarly sources. This might include exhibition catalogues, monographs, articles from peer-reviewed journals, and texts on museums’ websites. Wikipedia is not an appropriate source. Internet databases such as JSTOR, the Bibliography of the History of Art, and Worldcat are often very helpful. Note, these are not a substitute for books! Likewise, not all books are appropriate for this project—evaluate your sources with a critical eye.
