You will use this summary as the conclusion for your final comprehensive paper. You will also need to include the impact of partnerships, communication, evidence-based research, patient satisfaction, health reform, and the shift from hospital-based care to community care on the future of healthcare delivery in your paper.

Training under an individual physician remained the most common method of physician education when the first medical school was established in 1756 (Sultz & Young, 2011). Physicians in training were granted a certificate on completion of their apprenticeship. Medical education has changed substantially since that time and now there are over 815,000 licensed physicians in the United States (American Medical Association [AMA], 2012). With the shift from hospital-based care to preventive medicine and community care, physicians will require additional training and continuing education to prepare for that transition.
