Capstone (emergency services)

Report and then chose one of the causes of firefighter fatal injuries listed in the report to be the basis of your research. Then use the internet as well as professional journals, articles and other academically recognized sources (not including Wikipedia) to research and design a policy based on an actual or realistic risk assessment and brief literature review that you perform for your current department or a future agency that you wish to serve. The intention of this policy is to minimize the potential injuries and death associated with the cause above. Do not plagiarize and organization's policy - this should be your work - not cut and paste.

Regarding the policy itself, it can be in any format you choose – search for some examples on the web or use your own organization’s format. The key to any policy is that it is 1) realistic, 2) enforceable and 3) be crystal clear on the expectations and requirements of the policy. Don’t leave your reader asking questions like, Who? What? Where? and How? after reading your policy. A misunderstood policy is no policy at all. Ask someone else to read it and see if they could follow the policy or if they have any questions you can clarify – make sure the policy answers these questions.

Here is a link to a good Capstone. This is what they should look like, although your policy can be a different format if you want - you have more leeway with the policy than the paper. Capstone.example.2.docx

The final CAPSTONE project will include all of the following: (Create in Word and attach your submission) A title page, four pages of content, followed by the reference page, followed by the policy.
Paper:
Title page with the following in the middle of the page centered:
Title of the paper (In Bold)
Name
Date
Content – 4 pages, no more, no less
Background and Overview of the chosen Fatality
Your conducted risk assessment and literature review
Reference page – Center “References” at the top of the page
Alphabetize author’s by last name
Do not underline or italicize titles
Double space entries
Every source mentioned in the paper should have a reference on this page
Policy

Any official format – search online
Use any font or tables you need to – be professional
Parameters:

Times New Roman Font 12 pt.
Double Spaced, 1" margins
No headers or footers - no running heads (APA allows it – I don’t)
No Abstract (APA allows it – I don’t)
Four pages of content, followed by the reference page, followed by the policy. Four pages do not count the title page or reference page.
NO MORE, NO LESS
Your policy DOES NOT count as part of your four pages, it is in addition to the four pages of research and review. Choose any format for the policy - search for some examples.
You DO NOT need to duplicate the policy in the example - that format may not work for your policy.
The policy should be specific to a single organization, not generic for the fire or EMS services. The policy needs to be realistic and enforceable so as to minimize responder injury or death.
The policy should not leave the reader asking "Who, What, Where, or How"? questions.

Should pit bull terriers be banned in my community

Discussion Forum: Counterarguments (Should pit bull terriers be banned in my community) You created a question about the topic for your W6 Rough Draft. For this discussion, you will give an answer to that question in the form of a thesis statement. "Dieting Makes People Fat" Main Post: Share your thesis statement with your classmates. Please note: As with last week’s discussion, nothing here is set in stone. Be open to changing everything about your topic, including your position and audience, as you research it and get feedback from your classmates. Topic + Position/Purpose + Supporting Points =Thesis Statement Example: Suppose the question you posed in the Week 5 discussion was something like, “Should pit bull terriers be banned in my community?” After doing some preliminary research, you have concluded that pit bulls, if raised properly, are no more dangerous than other breeds of dogs. Your thesis statement can be something like, “Pitbulls should not be banned

Controversy Associated With Dissociative Disorders

Assignment: Controversy Associated With Dissociative Disorders The  DSM-5-TR  is a diagnostic tool. It has evolved over the decades, as have the classifications and criteria within its pages. It is used not just for diagnosis, however, but also for billing, access to services, and legal cases. Not all practitioners are in agreement with the content and structure of the  DSM-5-TR , and dissociative disorders are one such area. These disorders can be difficult to distinguish and diagnose. There is also controversy in the field over the legitimacy of certain dissociative disorders, such as dissociative identity disorder, which was formerly called multiple personality disorder. In this Assignment, you will examine the controversy surrounding dissociative disorders. You will also explore clinical, ethical, and legal considerations pertinent to working with patients with these disorders.
