This reality that more older white folks vote than other groups is reflected in this ad that aired in the run up to the 2018 midterm elections:

This ad clearly links this reality to the strength of the Republican party, and specifically Trump's victory in 2016. Is there a link here?  Do these folks tend to vote Republican, and if so how come?  Did that change at all in 2018, and if so how come? Some pertninent topics from your text may include demagoguery (Magstadt, 372) and political socialization (Magstadt, 299).
