rd, I tit, ;PH,
This task requires you to analyse and evaluate the ethical issues in your chosen case study. Your presentation should include:
• A brief discussion of the ethical complexities/ethical conflicts in the case study.
• An identification of the actions of the health workers that have ethical consequences.
• A discussion of how you might apply ethical principles and/or ethical theories to the decisions rnade by health workers in the case study in order to analyse and evaluate those decisions. Alternatively, you could prescribe a course of action based upon one or rnore of the ethical th.ries or principles.
• A discussion of the importance of negotiated outcomes and consideration of alternative ways the situation could have been managed.
• You should also incorporate some of the codes and standards into your discussion and explain how they have been breach. or upheld by the health worker/s in the case study.
Each person in the group should take turns in presenting to the class - the idea is that you work together, and not rely on others in your group to do everything,
'It's also worth pointing out that we don't necessarily expect you to criticise the actions of the health worker/s in the case study. In some cases the actions may well be worth criticising, but in other cases, the health worker's/ workers' actions are thoughfful and ethically appropriate. It's a good idea to discuss what has been done well in addition to what has been done poorly.
You should include some references (either in your powerpoint presentation as a reference list OR hand a reference list to your tutor if you are not using powerpoint). You do not ne. rnany references - 3-4 should be fine, but try to go beyond the unit notes,
