In an article from 2010, it discusses that “Servant leaders see themselves as a resource, not the source or oracle from which all organizational knowledge, wisdom, and direction must emanate” (Burkas, 2010). Servant leaders are the ones in the workplace in which people feel they can go to for wisdom and guidance because they are there to do just that, serve other’s needs. Another article from 2007 states that “the focus of leadership needs to be shifted from process and outcome to people and the future” (Davey & Wong, 2007).

the need for more servant leaders in the workplace and community. The
article talks about in order to unleash human potential, corporate
leaders need to know how to manage emotional economy more so like
servant leaders. This article goes into detail about positive energy
being omitted into the work place, which personally I see as an
important principal to consider applying in my own workplace. Another
principal the article talks about is “leaders listen to their employees
with open-mindedness” (Davey & Wong, 2007). This principal is
important because when a leader listens to their followers and
implements a true mindfulness way about the issues they are having, the
workplace can be a completely different place.
