The implications of Malaysia’s services liberalization commitments under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) for a proposed measure by Malaysia to allow non-resident foreign nationals to provide cross-border architectural services
A. With reference to the provisions of the relevant trade agreements, advise on the following:
(i) the implications of Malaysia’s services liberalization commitments under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) for a proposed measure by Malaysia to allow non-resident foreign nationals to provide cross-border architectural services; (3 marks)
(ii) whether the introduction by Mexico of a prohibition on the cross-border supply of betting services would be consistent with its services liberalization commitments under the CPTPP; (3 marks)
(iii) the extent to which the product-specific rules of origin for imitation jewellery differ under the CEPA and the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas establishing the Caribbean Community, including the CARICOM Single Market and Economy. (4 marks)
