Each assessment component is recorded as either Competent (C) or Not Yet Competent (NYC). A student can only achieve competence when all assessment components listed under “Purpose of the assessment” section are recorded as competent. Your trainer will give you feedback after the completion of each assessment. A student who is assessed as NYC (Not Yet Competent) is eligible for re-assessment.

• This assessment has to be completed 1 In class 0 At home 
• The assessment is to be completed according to the instructions given by your assessor. 
• Feedback on each task will be provided to enable you to determine how your work could be improved. You will be provided with feedback on your work within two weeks of the assessment due date. All other feedback will be provided by the end of the term. 
• Should you not answer the questions correctly, you will be given feedback on the results and your gaps in knowledge. You will be given another opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and skills to be deemed competent for this unit of competency. 
• If you are not sure about any aspect of this assessment, please ask for clarification from your assessor.

Assessment – Written Task 
Task 1: Case Studies and Project Documentation (20 Marks) 
Instructions: Read the following project case, then finish the required project documentation tasks. 
Fashionwave is a small company of designed apparels. 
The company are constructed by 20 middle aged women who design and produce the clothes for women and men. They would like to have their own website, so there will be company’s online identity and information exposure online. This is the first stage of their online plan. They will eventually have a full fledged eCommerce website, which will allow them to be able to sell their clothes directly from online. 
For the time being, the company's owner decided that the project will be just categorised into just men and women two simple categories. Each category will have at least 8 most current products in it for a start. Namely, 8 men's clothes in men category, and 8 women's clothes in women category. The website will have 5 pages. Homepage, Category, Service Policy, Events, Contact. The Homepage will have welcome information, a brief introduction to the company, and some highlights of company current sale information; The category page will of course have the link to the two categories, therefore the two categories will be two subpages of this page; Service Policy page will have company service policy, such as shipping information, return policy, service guarantee, etc; Events page will be a gallery of photos showing the company have being participating a recent apparel fair, the page will also include the icons to the social media, i.e. FaceBook, Pinterest, Twitter, etc; Finally the contact page will have the contact information of the company and the embeddedGoogle map. The men and women products pages are two subpages of the category page, they will each contact 8 or more products, with the products icons, product names, and prices. 
The project after planned and proposed needs to be approved by the project manager and the client. Before the delivery of the website, the testing report need to be sighted and approved by the project manager and the client.

This basically is the re-writing of the case described above, but more concise, which will address the design requirement of the project clearly.Please state your decision on authoring language, the software authoring tools for your web project, and the audience of the website. 5

3 Coloured storyboard of at least two pages (recommend homepage and contact page). This will show the layout design, style and colour scheme. 7 
4 Resource and Schedule 
Resource will list the resource and budget needed to do the project; schedule will list the stages of project and duration of each stages. 3 
Assessment (60 Marks) – Assignment / Project 
Assessment description 
Task 2: Project (60 marks) 
Design the website according to the design case brief, and save the site in a folder called “wdd_site”. Two screenshots of sample apparel website are included in the end part of this assessment document. Marks 
1 Coding - HTML, Authoring tool - Dreamweaver. (Please include a screenshot of the authoring tool you used for the project. Please showing the coding part of the HTML coding, and the evidence you have hand coding in that coding interface) For student who is using other authoring tools, you must get the approval by your trainer first. 5 marks 
2 All requested pages are designed per the design specification and as planned in the website, and the navigation among them is working properly. 5 mark each; totally 25 marks 
3 The site needs to have css file defined called style.css. It needs to cover the styling of body text, background color or background, page tile, section title, disclaimer, navigation link, body link, disclaimer link, etc… 10 marks 
4 Layout design and consistency 10 marks 
5 Content and images use 10 marks

Assessment - Written 
Task 3: Project Testing Plan (20 Marks) 
Please complete the following tasks for testing of your website project:

1 Create a Word file called “test.docx”. First part of the test.docx should be a testing/validation table, including client requirement, layout design, coding, styling, delivery. There are many website design testing plan sample and template online, which you can refer to. For testing aspect of accessibility, you need to have testing items such as, “is all the image tag have alt attributes?”. Please provide a website of ‘screen reader” tool for eye sight disability people (use screenshot); Also list a stress testing plan or a stress testing tool you would like to use (name, web address, screenshot) 10 
2 Second part of the test.docx should be the screenshots of the index page in IE and a screenshot of the index page in FireFox or another web browser. 5 
3 Create a client approval and sign off paper for the project, showing the website is design, approved, signed and delivered. Must have Design Company and the client company’s contact details. 5

Submission 
Put all of your submission inside a folder called “wdd_(studentID)_(firstname)”, make it into a zip file (not rar file). Email it to the submission email according to the instruction at the beginning of the eLearning page. Meantime, fill and print the coversheet. 
• Student must submit by sending the assessment in a zip (not rar) compressed format by the due date. 
• You must answer the questions of the task as much as you can. Expect for example task 2 requires you to create a user-training document. That needs to be a separate document. Put all those separate files into a folder called “task 1”. “task2” etc, so it is easier to be located. 
• Important: Before you send the email, let your trainer check your assessment see if you miss something. This is part of the feedback from the trainer. 
• Please note, the submission email is located inside the eLearning page, and it is not the trainer’s staff email.
